School is out for 2 weeks!

This is a picture of Blake leaving for school on Friday before his winter break. And yes, he wore the hat to school. Well, I can officially say I am done with Christmas shopping. I am so glad. However, I still have to venture to the mall today for my hair appointment. It's at noon so it should be real easy to find a parking space don't ya think! I almost cancelled this appointment, not wanting to spend the money at Christmas and it only being 4 weeks since the last time I had it done. But I wanted to get some more blond put in my hair for Xmas.

Another Saturday Night of Wii

When Blake heard Dori was coming over to play Wii with us, he pulled a chair up to the window and watched for her to pull up, he was ready, however, Dori definately brought her game with her. We are all going to practice a little more if we want to beat her. Not all was lost, Blake finally made Pro stautus on the bowling.

Preston Place X-Mas Party

OK girls, I think this was like our 30th attempt to get a shot of the three of us since everyone else skated out early and we had to use the timer on the camera. That's ok, we know who the real partiers are. Those others don't know what they missed. If anyone wants to challenge the 3 Amigos to a game of Gestures, your on, we had lots of practice. Debbie let us read the cards though, your eyesight isn't too good!

Company X-Mas Party

As usual, if there's a DJ, I'm on the dance floor and this year was no different. Robbie actually pulled out the camera and got a shot. Is he converting to my ways...hmmm. I may be rubbing off on him. Anyway, that is Erika to the right our new marketing gal at Preston Place. It was a fun night and I even won a $100 gift card to Best Buy!

Senior Adult Services Basket Presentation

This is one of my favorite projects to do each year. At Thanksgiving we provide a dinner for our residents and in turn they provide a small donation so that we can go purchase items to fill these baskets that are given to needy seniors in Collin County. This was my ninth year to participate.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Today we put up the Christmas tree. That really seems to get me in the holiday season. I have already started my Christmas shopping but there is still lots to do. I love Christmas and all that comes with it....Family, seeing the kids excitement as the days grow closer to that special day and then especially when they first wake up on Xmas morning. Oh, and did I mention presents.....I love presents! I'm just as bad as the kids wondering what might be inside one of my gifts.

Deer Lease

Right after Thanksgiving Dinner Blake, Robbie & Grandad went to Charlie's Deer Lease. There's no girls allowed so I can't tell you everything that happened, but I can tell you they had a lot of fun. I know they had to be pretty cold the first night because it got down to 28 degrees and they were out of propane to keep warm. Charlie got more the next day so everything was good after that. Blake loved being up in the deer blind but the deer were scarce. As you can see in one of the pictures, Blake had his binoculars trying to find them. What I can tell you of the weekend was that they rode 4 wheelers, ate lots of junk, and Blake made them all laugh with his brutal honesty. For one, he told one of the guys he looked better with his hat on to hide his bald head, then he asked another if he spoke Spanish and when he said no, Blake said "Well you look like you would" (He looked Hispanic) And last he went up to one of the guys who was smoking a cigar and asked why he was killing himself. Kids!

Preston Place Retirements Halloween Carnival was proud to welcome back Madam Zelda this year with her many fortunes or better yet, Tall Tales. As always she was a big hit!

Preston Place Haloween Carnival Favorites

Shirlie Burns was a fly and her husband a fly catcher. Pretty Clever and she looked so darn cute.

Bobby McKinney and Natalie Gorden came in first place with their Salt & Pepper Costumes. And Arlene Vanderclute, what a hottie she was, where was the paparatzi when you need em!

The Joys of Nature

Yes, I took this picture. It's pretty amazing! I think every member of the Hennig family loves photography, but I feel I outdid myself on this one. Can you guess what it is?

Walking with the Dinosaurs, The Live Experience

Big thanks to Dijea and Mason for thinking of us when they weren't going to use the tickets to this event, we had a blast. The dinosaurs were so big you would have had to see it with your own eyes. The man looked like a little ant next to them. Since Robbie had to be at work so early the next day, Blake and I took Mitchell and Loren, it was a good mother son night.

Wii

Dori & Darwin came over to play wii for the first time, there was definately some competition going on here. I think Bowling was the favorite.

Kitchen

Yea! I finally have my baseboards and chair rails up in my kitchen. After living with what looked like a home improvement project gone bad for so long, Jose came and finished what I couldn't. Now I just need to anchor the room with some window treatments (Mom do you hear my cry for help) and get my pictures back on the wall.

Oklahoma!

So Robbie & I took a little overnight trip to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma right outside Tulsa for a Golf Tournament. We drove in on Highway 69, they call all their corner stores the Kum & Go, and the local tv station was Cox Network. Hmmm.....we saw a theme going here. At the Golf course Robbie had the lowest score and was a medalist with a 69. Hmmm.

We ventured into Tulsa Friday night for dinner and found the neatest little shopping area which is where these two pictures came from. We ate at the most wonderful place called "Pepper's Grill". If you couldn't find something to eat there something was wrong with you. Robbie ordered Tortilla Soup, a 16 oz. Rib Eye and a loaded Baked Potato. I got the best Turkey and Guacamole Sandwhich with Fries.

Oh, how I love the Texas Star. This picture was taken at the Texas Visitors Center at the border of Texas and Oklahoma.

Clowning Around

Blake drew a cute picture of a clown at school, I thought I would share since I've been lacking in the blogging department lately.

Egypt & King Tut

So Blake has recently found an interest about Egypt, Pyramids, & Pharaoh's, so as any good mother would do, I went to the Library and checked out some books and DVDs on the subject. Blake has loved gaining all this new knowledge and decided he wanted to be King Tut, so we made a mask and later today we plan on making a mummy: the recipe was in one of the books I got and it involves chiseling a face out of an apple and dipping it in a mixture and wrapping it up. Does anyone know where a mixing bowl is? I've heard they are kept in the kitchen but I try not to go in there that often...I guess I will have to venture into foreign territory. Wish me luck!

Main Event

We spent the evening out with friends playing billards and bowling, the kids also had unlimted video game cards. It was quite fun. I am embarresed to say it but my son beat me in bowling. He scored a 97.

Last Weekend before school

Well my hats off to Jay (Mitchell's Dad) He ventured off with the 3 boys for the day. They rode the Dart Rail to the Dallas Zoo where they met up with the Boy Scouts. On the way back they even stopped off at the ball downtown and looked over the city.
