All American 4th!

Off to see the Texas Rangers

We are leaving to go to America's alltime favorite pastime...Baseball, which is perfect for the 4th of July. They are expected to have an amazing fireworks spectacular when it's over, so I'll post more pictures when we get back. By the way we will be the biggest nerds and I LOVE IT! This is because we are going with another family and all of the parents will be wearing these same Jerseys and the boys will be wearing the same t-shirts. I'm sure we will laugh about it later on.

Silly Rabbit, Trix are for Kids!

While at the park today, we saw a cute little rabbit, although, it is not rare around here. They are often in our backyard. You have to be careful in the alley not to hit them.

Going, Going, Gone

We found a good spot for the turtle Blake named "Slowey" at the neighborhood park next to the creek. Even though Blake misses him very much, he loves his new home very much.

Color Change

I finally bit the bullet the other weekend (with lots of help from Robbie and Mandy)and painted my Entryway and Hallway. My mom and I had textured the walls no telling how long ago and I had just been dumbfounded on what color to paint them. I finally decided on a neutral (It's the same color I put in the bathrooms). After all was said and done I loved it so much that I took the same color into the kitchen no more of the Mustard color I just had to have. Next I will have Jose put up the Bead board with new chair rail and baseboards in the kitchen. I might even splurge on Crown Molding - but we will have to see. The old table you see in the picture was my Great Grandma Stehle's and I used to see it in Grandma Hennig's house. My mom recently handed it down to me after her remodel.

Dad, Grampa & Grand Dad

For Father's Day I had some picture's transferred into Black & White of Blake with his Dad in the snow, w/ Grampa on the beach & Grandad fishing.

Art Class

Blake took an art class at Abrakadoodle where he learned about Japanese artist Hokusai (hoe-koo-sigh). He is famous for his painting of waves.

Coleus

Those of you who know me are aware of the fact that I have no Green Thumb. However, with all the rain we have had this summer my Coleus looks pretty good. I usually do Geraniums but a friend gave me these because she had left overs she was unable to plant in her yard. I also planted some English Ivy under my big tree in the backyard.

Found

Lost turtle, found while doing yard work. We have taken very good care of it, including giving it a bath. My mom won't let me keep it, so if the owner does not come forward we will have to take it to a nearby creek.

Who is this Child?

I know it is a shocker, but Blake took all the sheets off his bed, put them in the washer, started the washer, put them in the dryer and started the dryer. Then actually put his dishes in the dishwasher. And did it all with excitement, we'll see how long that lasts. To be continued...

Mystery Illness

It's been a while since I have posted anything so I am going back a few months here. Our dog Sophie mysteriously got really sick, throwing up all the time so we took her to the vet and he right away said it sounded like there was an obstruction somewhere and that we needed to take an X-ray. From that, he knew there was something in her stomach to large to throw up and too large to pass, this meant surgery. We all waited anxiously as too see what it could be. As you have probably already guessed it was this plastic toy fly that she had swallowed. The Activities Director at my work had used these as decoration on cupcakes at Halloween last year and thought Blake might like one. This 25cent toy ended up costing me over $600. At any rate, the vet said he's taken a lot of things out of pets stomachs, but it was definitely a first to remove a fly and that the whole office got a good laugh out of it.

2nd Annual Goldie Awards

This is one of many wonderful events we put on for the residents of Preston Place. It is very similar to the Academy Awards/Oscars. Residents nominate & then vote through ballots in all sorts of categories from Most Comedic or Best Dancer to Most Dramatic Hospitalization or Fall. They are awarded with Oscars made by a local trophy company & accepted with a speech. The staff & I also put on some acts of our own which included "Candyman" and "lullaby of Broadway".

Trip to the Dentist

A word of advice to all parents, make sure you floss your kids teeth. Even the best brushers get cavities as we found out, and Blake will be having some extensive work done on his teeth now. I wish his problems would have been on all his front teeth because he would be loosing those soon, but it's the molars that he will be needing for a while.

Blake's Surgery

Blake went in to have a 3rd set of tubes put in his ears and his tonsils removed. His adnoids had grown back from his last surgery, so those were taken out again. Grandma is starting a Flat Stanley book for each grandchild, where they take him to important places and document it with a picture, so you'll see Flat Stanley with Blake in these pictures. The 1st picture is waiting in the Lobby before surgery.

This is before the Margarita Juice; he is a little nervous.

This is after the Margarita Juice; he's not so worried.

Now we are all done and ready to go home.

Fun day at the skating rink!

I just loved this outing, it's been at least 20 years since I last had skates on, but I still got it baby! I was able to show off a little for Blake, he couldn't believe I could skate backwards.

Skating Anyone?

This is a picture taken when we went to The Thunderbird Roller Rink in Plano, TX. All the boys had a lot of fun, but there skating skills need a little work yet.
