Saturday Night Out
I always put pictures in my post but Saturday I didn't take any, its a shame too because I had so much fun and saw a great skyline at night in Downtown Dallas. That's right me in downtown Dallas on a Saturday night and on Main St. none the less. Blake spent the night at JoJo's and Robbie and I picked up our friend Rob and headed down to City Tavern to hear one of his friends band play. They were awesome, had a real Austin city vibe to them. Erika and her husband Tom also met us down there. I got home around 1:30a.m which may not sound like a big deal, but, for me it is because I hardly ever go out anymore. I even did a little dancing that night, and those who know me know I love doing that!

Look, no training wheels!
I now have a riding buddy! We finally took off Blake's training wheels and off he went. I was actually surprised at how fast he got the hang of it. The picture you see was in a parking lot, it was easier for him to ride there than on the sidewalk. He can't wait to go again tomorrow and he couldn't wait to call his grandma when he was finished to tell her the good news.
Golf Lessons
Our morning started with golf lessons. We got there a little early so dad could give Blake a few pointers, but just as we thought Blake does not listen to him as well as to someone else, same thing happened in baseball. Luckily, our friend Rob was there to get him focused. He worked with him a little before the jr. golf camp started. Blake had a great time and I think this could be something we can do together as a family. As you can see below, I also did some practicing. I did pretty good. I actually think I hit it better than some of those hackers on driving range. I am paying for it now, at first my lower back was just sore but now that it's evening my shoulder is pretty sore. I guess I just need a little conditioning.

Sea Glass
Now that I have my guest room back I've decided to decorate it with memories of my New Zealand trip. Since one of my favorite things I did there was gather Sea Glass on the beach with Dijea I have displayed it next to the bed in there. I still have to mat and frame my favorite pics from the trip and hang them on the wall, I've chosen them but just haven't gotten around to getting them done. Anyway, here is a pic of how I displayed the sea glass.

Excercise, here we go!
So while I was in San Antonio for the week we celebrated my 35th Birthday. I've been wanting a bike to do a little excercise and for something Blake and I could do together that doesn't involve TV or video games. My mom and I went to numerous Bike Shops and tried a bunch out. Below is 'Ol Yeller as I named her, and we are sure to have lots of fun riding around the neighborhood and bike trails in the area. I got the basket so I could carry a picnic if I should choose, but it is now on the shelf in the garage as I got many stares in Dallas with it, but don't worry I will break it out when the time is right to be used. Thanks mom and dad for a great birthday present that is sure to give me much enjoyment!

Tubing
My favorite day of our vacation was floating down the 'ol Guadalupe River. It was so relaxing, except for the part when you first get in and it feels like 20 below zero and you just know your back end will freeze and break off. Anyway, we went to the part that is called the Horseshoe which took about an hour and a half...we did it 3 times. The pictures here are from a picnic we packed and ate between the rides. Just have to add, the one thing that is also great about vacation with your family is that you don't have to get all beautified for them, I got to hang out all week without make-up. What a treat for me... that is until you look back at the pictures. Who cares, that's why it's called a vacation. Right??? I wish I had taken pictures while on the river but I didn't want to chance dropping my camera in, a good decision since I did fall out of my tube once, I completely dumped over and oh was it ever cold.

Mowhawks are cool!
Since I don't have a little girl to dress up and make cute, I decided to have a little fun playing with my son's hair. I wanted to give him a mowhawk during the summer, but my husband would have no part of that, he said he would just shave it off completely...then I would be left with a skinhead as a child and that ain't happening. So this was my attempt at one with the gel. I think he looks adorable!

A Full Day
Saturday morning started at 7:30 at the baseball field with Blake's first playoff game, the game actually started at 8 a.m. but they have to be there early. It ended at 9:45 with a victory, so Tuesday we go for Payoff game #2 which is going to be difficult to win since our First Baseman is going to be on Vacation. Blake had to quickly change in the car so we could make it to his good friend Travis's B-day party where he played video games, played Putt Putt and rode the bumper boats as seen in one of these pics. Then it was a quick trip to target and lunch and a quick change into our swimsuits. We then picked up his good friend Mitchell and we all went out to the Country Club for a swim (3 hours). We dropped him off had dinner and practiced hitting baseballs for an hour then Mitchell came over to spend the night. Blake fell asleep and Mitchell came into our room and wanted to go home - Blake had told him a scary story and he wanted to be in his own bed. So 10 pm I call his mom and said I was on my way to bring him home. This morning when Blake woke up he came in and asked where his friend was not knowing what had happened. That will teach him to tell bad stories!

Finally!
After almost 8 years in our house we finally painted over the horrible 70's paneling. Much thought was put into whether or not to just rip it out, but after much deliberation we decided to paint it and if we didn't like it, then we would rip it out. Well, I think it turned out pretty good, so here is a look. Friday the painters are coming back to paint our bedroom before our new furniture is delivered Saturday. Once it's finished, I'll post pictures of that too. Even though we have done most of the painting ourselves or with the help of my mother, our time is just so limited now that we have contracted it out - mainly because I have Vendors through work that will do it dirt cheap and are able to do it much faster and better than I.

Happy Birthday Blake!
This was our 3rd annual trip to Six Flags for Blake's 7th Birthday. We took his 2 cousins, Ethan & Hunter. This was the 1st year for Hunter to go now that he is old enough and tall enough to ride most of the rides. The picture of Ethan and Blake is on the Judge Roy Scream. You will also notice a picture of all the boys soaked after riding one of the log rides.

Last Night in New Zealand
Our last night was spent having a large family dinner that Lizzy cooked for everyone and then the cousins all went for one last walk on the beach as seen in this picture. I wish I was still there with them all, I had such a wonderful time. Thanks to everyone for making it the most memorable trip ever.
